| Military: | Edwin enlisted at Norwich, Norfolk on 5 April 1916, called up on 8 April, and was posted to the 2nd Battalion Bedfordshire Regiment, Private 28450, on 11 April. To 5 September 1916 he served on home soil. From 6 September 1916 he served in his unit with the B.E.F. in France. On 22 March 1918 he was reported missing. On 12 April 1918 he found to be a Prisoner of War, held at Munster III. On 17 December 1918 he was repatriated and posted back to his regimental depot. He was demobbed on 13 March 1919 and on 20 March was transferred to Class “Z” Army Reserve. |
